Guidelines for Proposals

To give a paper at the 2009 SCSMI conference, the presenter must be a current member of the Society. To join or learn more, see here.

Papers at the 2009 SCSMI conference will be thirty minutes in length to be followed by a twenty-minute question and answer period.  The thirty-minute presentation time includes all audio-visual material. New: there might also be a Respondents’ Session in which three papers by doctoral students will receive responses by experts in the field..

Individuals interested in presenting a paper at the 2009 conference should submit the following:

1) Name, institutional affiliation, and email address
2) Title and 50 words abstract
3) 300-500 word synopsis of the paper, plus a maximum of 8 literature references
4) Brief biographical statement

Your proposal should be emailed to all three members of the SCSMI conference program committee:

Please include your proposal text in the message, and attach it as well.

Paper proposals must be received by November 14, 2008.  Notice of accepted paper proposals will be given no later than December 12, 2008.
